Rapito, a gripping historical drama by director Marco Bellocchio, is set in 1858 in the Jewish quarter of Bologna, where seven-year-old Edgardo is kidnapped by soldiers of the Pope. According to the cardinal, the child had been secretly baptized and therefore needed a Catholic upbringing. Edgardo's parents do everything they can to get their child back, which soon creates a battle with a political dimension.
