    School / Group Screenings

Palace wants to transmit enthusiasm for cinema and stimulate the public's curiosity.

Palace collaborates with several educational organizations that offer a programme of films for students from kindergarten to university. These films are selected for their accessibility to a wide audience of children and teenagers, for their richness of direction and the interest of the themes they address.

We hope to arouse the students' enthusiasm for the cinema through the viewing of a film but also through a debate, a workshop or a discussion with a filmmaker. With this in mind, each screening is preceded by a workshop short film made by young people. If you need advice or help to organize your screening, please feel free to contact us at education@cinema-palace.be.

    Écran Large sur Tableau Noir

Ecran Large sur Tableau Noir is a film education programme that extends to the main cities of French-speaking Belgium. Set up in 1982, it is coordinated by the cultural center Les Grignoux (Liège) in partnership with arthouse cinemas and cultural centers throughout French-speaking Belgium.

    Programme

Each year, Écran Large sur Tableau Noir offers a programme of films for school screenings that students, from nursery school to higher education, can discover for a small fee with their teachers. These films are selected for their accessibility to a wide audience of children and teenagers and for the richness of their direction or the interest of the themes they deal with.

    Dossiers pédagogiques

For each film presented within this program, Les Grignoux offers a free educational file proposing concrete ways of preparing the students before the screening but also ways of using the movie in an educational context after the viewing.

    Current education projects

In parallel with daily school screenings, the Palace is setting up educational projects. Below are the projects currently underway:

The LA DANSE DES RENARDS (EQUAL) project - secondary schools (free)

Several screenings of LA DANSE DES RENARDS organized in collaboration with Ecran Large sur Tableau Noir. These screenings are free and accompanied by an in-theater activity.

They will take place on November 14, February 5, March 30, April 7, and April 15.

Disability Awareness Week - special screening of EN FANFARE - secondary school (free)

On November 27 at 9:30 a.m., a special screening of EN FANFARE, accessible to all. Seats are free.

The film will be accessible to people with reduced mobility, visually impaired and blind students thanks to audio description, and deaf and hard-of-hearing students thanks to SME subtitles and a magnetic loop.

Our PECA project - The Adventures of Mickey

We are back for the fourth consecutive year with THE ADVENTURES OF MICKEY, our program of short films accompanied by an activity based on the history of cinema and cartoons.

The screening is accompanied by a classroom activity (offered by the FWB).

    Films à la carte

As every year, Cinema Palace offers you an “à la carte” program, designed to give you the freedom to choose the films that best match your courses and educational projects.

For this new school year, three films stand out in particular:

    • L’été de Jahia by Olivier Meys: a sensitive portrait of youth in search of guidance and freedom.

    • Bird by Andrea Arnold: an intimate yet universal story exploring family bonds and social divides.

    • BXL by Ish Ait Hamou and Monir Ait Hamou: a vibrant immersion into urban realities and the many faces of Brussels.
