Retired teacher Lia has vowed to find out what happened to her long-lost niece Tekla. When she hears from a neighbor, Achi, that Tekla may have left Georgia and is living in Turkey, they set off together to Istanbul and discover a beautiful city, rich in possibilities. There, they meet Evrim, a lawyer fighting for the rights of trans people, who puts them on the trail of the missing woman.
