In September 1972, Jacques Lacan was invited to give a lecture to students at the Catholic University of Louvain. As much as the content of his remarks, what impresses here is the way Lacan stages his speech. His thought slowly gets under way from silence, suddenly accelerates and finds its rhythm, until the intervention of a young situationist interrupts the show. The second part of the film is an interview between Françoise Wolff and Jacques Lacan. Rarely has thought been seen so directly, in its act.

An evening organized by LPC (Cinéma belge en héritage) and Cinéma Palace, in collaboration with the Cinémathèque de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and Sonuma.
