In a Greek village, on the eve of the inauguration of his father's new butcher shop, Pavlos kills his neighbor. For some time, their families' disagreements over land distribution had been festering. The only witness is Cristos, a young Albanian taken in by the family as a child. Pavlos convinces him that the murder must remain a secret.
