When 68-year-old retired Meir discovers that the 30-year planning for the village's annual party has been scrapped and the work has been done by inexperienced local teens, the soil is gradually shirking beneath his feet. In his efforts to regain meaning and vitality, Meir rebels against the inevitable: the betrayal of his physical condition and the growing distance with his children. But he tries above all to find a role in society.
