At the age of 12, Bailey lives with his brother Hunter and his father Bug, who is bringing them up alone in a squat in North Kent. Bug doesn't have much time for them, busy as he is with his wedding plans and various schemes to make some easy money. To escape the chaos at home, Bailey often hangs out outside in the countryside. It's there that she meets Bird, an eccentric and lonely boy who seems to be looking for something in the neighbourhood. Curious, Bailey decides to help him...
