From July 26 to August 18, Plaisirs d'été de la Ville de Bruxelles (Summer Pleasures of the City of Brussels) unfolds on the theme of dance: initiations, shows and battles for all styles and genres will be presented in 4 downtown districts (Bourse, Dansaert, Mont-des-Arts, Marolles).

With 3 films, the Palace will show that dance and cinema enjoy a close, diversified and innovative relationship: whether in documentary form with hip-hop (David LaChapelle's Rize) and contemporary dance (Wim Wenders' Pina), or in fictional form with disco (John Badham's Saturday Night Fever).

Synopsis : Pina is a film for Pina Bausch. This feature-length dance film, shot in 3D with the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch troupe, shows the exhilarating, singular art of the great choreographer who died in the summer of 2009. It invites viewers on a sensual and visually stunning journey into a new dimension: right in the middle of the legendary troupe's stage, and beyond the theater, with the dancers, in and around Wuppertal - the place that was home and center of Pina Bausch's creative life for over 35 years.
