For the 17th edition, the Brussels International Women's Film Festival “Elles Tournent - Dames Draaien” becomes the Brussels International Women's Film Festival!
Palace is delighted to host the festival's opening screening:
07/10 at 18:30 with the film SIMA’S SONG by Roya Sadat. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Afghan director Roya Sadat, guest of honor at the Festival.

Synopsis : The political upheavals that shook Afghanistan in the late 1970s tore apart two best friends: Suraya, a wealthy communist activist, and Sima, a traditional Muslim singer. Their journey from young idealists to resistance leaders reveals that their unbreakable bond transcends the very ideologies that divided them. Their story, drawn from Afghanistan's past, becomes a powerful prism through which we can understand our own increasingly divided present.
Réalisé par Roya Sadat, « Sima's Song » est plus qu'un film : c'est un témoignage de l'esprit inébranlable des femmes afghanes. Couvrant plusieurs décennies, il dépeint leurs sacrifices, leur résilience et leur lutte inlassable pour la liberté.
