The Brussels International Film Festival (BRIFF) returns for its ninth edition from September 4 to 12, 2026, in the heart of Brussels!

The festival will open with Notre Salut, the new feature film by Emmanuel Marre, which joins the International Competition.

Awarded Best Screenplay at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, the film will be presented as a Belgian premiere. An exceptional opportunity to discover, exclusively, one of the most anticipated releases of the new film season.

Synopsis: September 1940: the Pétain regime takes power. 49-year-old Henri Marre arrives in Vichy penniless, connectionless, and far from his wife and children. He sees in the new administration an opportunity to finally claim the place he deserves. In his suitcase is his self-published political treatise, Notre Salut, in which he defends his patriotic beliefs and his engineering methods. His creed: "maximize efficiency" to pull France out of debacle. But perhaps Henri is above all trying to flee his own downfall...
